Retail trade turnover in Latvia increased by 5.2% in January y-o-y 01.03.2013
Data of Central Statistical Bureau show that, compared to December 2012, total retail trade turnover in January 2013 increased by 1.2%, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Compared to January 2012, total retail trade turnover in January of this year increased by 5.2%.

Retail trade in food products rose by 2.6%, whereas retail sale of non-food products – by 0.3%.

In comparison with December 2012, total retail trade turnover at current prices, not considering the seasonality, in January 2013 dropped by 17.8% (in January 2012 this indicator comprised 17.9%, as compared to December 2011).

Compared to January 2012, total retail trade turnover in January of this year increased by 5.2%, according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices. Rise in food commodity group comprises 3.6%, while retail trade in non-food products increased by 6.3%, of which retail sale of automotive fuel – by 9.7 %.

In comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year, total retail trade turnover at current prices rose by 6.1% (not taking into account the calendar influence).
